DESCRIPTION:Event Details: \nSunday\, June 12\, 2022 \nRenaissance Minneapolis Hotel\, The Depot\n225 Third Ave. S.\nMinneapolis\, MN 55401 \n5:30 p.m. – Reception on the outdoor covered patio (Light dinner and beverages served)\n7:00 p.m. – Program featuring David Horovitz (Program to be held indoors\, public health conditions permitting)\n8:15 p.m. – Outdoor reception resumes (dessert served)\n9:00 p.m. – Evening concludes \nTicket prices: $250 ($200 tax-deductible) and $500 ($450 tax-deductible) \nPurchase 2022 JCRC Annual Event tickets\nWe encourage you to purchase your tickets early if you can join us since space is limited.  If you are unable to join us this year\, please consider making a contribution. \nWe respectfully request that those who attend the event on June 12th are vaccinated for COVID-19. The parking entrance is located on S. 5th Avenue\, between Washington and 2nd St.   There will be self-parking or valet parking available after you enter the lot from 5th Avenue. Valet will be available on the surface level on the left side as you enter the lot.  You can self-park on the surface lot or go inside the ramp and self-park on either P1 or P2. Once you are parked inside the ramp\, please enter the RED doors labeled “Great Northern” and proceed to floor 1. The red doors are located closest to the JCRC event. \nFeaturing Speaker David Horovitz\, Founding Editor of The Times of Israel\n \nAbout the speaker:  David Horovitz is the founding editor of The Times of Israel\, the Jerusalem-based current affairs website that launched in February 2012.  The Times of Israel\, which provides independent coverage of Israel\, the region and the Jewish world\, is the fastest-growing news site in the Jewish world\, and now also publishes in French\, Arabic and Persian. \nHorovitz was previously editor-in-chief of The Jerusalem Post (2004-2011). Before that\, he was editor and publisher of the award-winning news magazine The Jerusalem Report. \nHe has written from Israel for newspapers around the world\, including The New York Times\, Los Angeles Times\, The Irish Times and (London) Independent\, and is a frequent interviewee on CNN\, the BBC\, Sky\, Fox News\, NPR and other TV and radio stations. \nHorovitz lectures widely in Israel\, the United States and Europe on Israeli current affairs\, regularly giving the introductory briefing on Israel to Congressional delegations brought to Israel under the aegis of AIPAC. \nHe has conducted landmark interviews with a succession of Israeli and international figures\, including all of Israel’s recent prime ministers\, Presidents Barack Obama (when he visited Israel as a candidate) and George Bush\, as well as Tony Blair\, Vladimir Putin and\, to the particular delight of his children\, Paul McCartney. \nHorovitz is the author of 2004’s Still Life with Bombers: Israel in the Age of Terrorism\, and 2000’s A Little Too Close to God: The Thrills and Panic of a Life in Israel\, both published in the U.S. by Knopf.  He edited and co-wrote The Jerusalem Report’s 1996 biography of Yitzhak Rabin\, Shalom\, Friend\, which was published in 12 countries and won the U.S. National Jewish Book Award for Non-Fiction.  He was the recipient of 2005’s JDC award for journalism.  In 2014\, he was awarded Bnai Brith’s lifetime achievement journalism award. \nHorovitz immigrated to Israel from London in 1983.  He is married to Lisa and they have three children.
