SUMMARY:Sioux Falls: Get to Know Your Jewish Neighbor
DESCRIPTION:Join your neighbors at Mt. Zion Congregation in Sioux Falls for a 3-part educational series\, “Get To Know Your Jewish Neighbor.” Mt. Zion Congregation\, founded in 1919\, has been at the heart of Sioux Falls Jewish life for over 100 years. This educational series is designed to build connections and community. Come learn about Sioux Falls Jewish life and meet your friendly neighbors. Each session will begin with a welcome and introduction from a Sioux Falls Jewish community member and be followed by a short reception and opportunity for community members of diverse backgrounds to share ideas and reactions. \n\nPart I\, Introduction to Judaism (March 15 at 7 pm). Bring your curiosity\, as we learn more about the beliefs\, values\, and religious traditions upon which Jewish peoplehood and faith are based. This program covers the common roots of the 3 Abrahamic Faiths\, introduction to Torah\, holidays\, ritual objects\, ethical principles\, connection to Israel\, Jewish diversity\, life cycle events\, Kosher diet\, and more.  Facilitated by Holly Brod Farber\, JCRC co-director of Judaism and Israel Education.\nPart II\, Amazing Israel (April 26 at 7 pm). Let’s explore a tiny land that has a big story to tell. As Israel celebrates its 75th anniversary\, learn more about Israel\, a country brimming with biblical history and cutting-edge innovation\, the Jewish homeland that is also a dynamic\, multi-ethnic democracy. Facilitated by Sally Abrams\, JCRC co-director of Judaism and Israel Education.\nPart III\, Jewish Ethics (July 12 at 7 pm). Together let’s take a deeper dive into Jewish ethics by examining a traditional Jewish text that gives rise to universal ethical values. Individuals can consider for themselves how the topic connects with their own intentions\, practices and personal stories. This session is intended to expose participants to the Jewish tradition of learning ethical principles from traditional Biblical and other sacred texts.  Facilitated by Rabbi Cathy Nemiroff of Mt. Zion Congregation.\n\nAll sessions are free and open to the public but advance registration is required. \n\n\n \n \n Sioux Falls: Get to Know Your Jewish Neighbor\n \n "*" indicates required fields \n \n FacebookThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Phone*Address* \n \n \n \n Street Address\n \n \n Address Line 2\n \n \n City\n \n \n State / Province / Region\n \n \n ZIP / Postal Code\n \n AfghanistanAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCabo VerdeCambodiaCameroonCanadaCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaCôte d'IvoireDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaRéunionSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluTürkiyeUS Minor Outlying IslandsUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabweÅland Islands\n Country\n \n \n I plan to attend the following sessions in-person at Mt.
