A Moment of Civic Strain. A Call to Show Up

Feb. 12, 2026

JCRC invites you to join us to advocate with your state legislators during this moment of profound civic strain.

In the shadow of Operation Metro Surge, many Minnesotans are experiencing fear, instability, and a loss of trust in public institutions. At the same time, nearly two-and-a-half years after October 7, anti-Jewish politics continue creeping toward the mainstream of American life—creating a constricted civic climate for Jews.

These realities are not separate. Both reflect a political environment increasingly shaped by polarization, propaganda, and rigid binary thinking.

We are convening Jewish community advocates to meet directly with state legislators to share lived experiences, articulate concerns, and affirm the democratic values that bind us together as Minnesotans and Americans.

Why your voice matters now:

  • Resisting polarization: Your voice shows that Minnesota can choose shared civic responsibility over false, zero-sum binaries.
  • Strengthening democratic unity: Leaders need to hear that defending human dignity, constitutional rights, and public trust requires coalitions—without importing divisive ideological litmus tests that fracture from within.
  • Recognizing warning signs: Anti-Jewish politics are not only a threat to Jews; they are a proven driver of societal collapse. Help your representative and senator recognize this pattern before the damage deepens.

As Jews, we bring both a particular story and a universal commitment. We draw from enduring Jewish wisdom to resist false prophecies and safeguard our democracy.

Thank you for being part of a Jewish community that shows up—not only for ourselves, but for the civic fabric we all share.
