St. Paul City Council Advocacy
Updated March 1, 2024
Dear St. Paul community members,
We are continuing to organize Jews and allies in St. Paul to prevent the division manufactured by the Minneapolis City Council around the Israel-Hamas war from taking root at St. Paul City Hall. Thankfully, despite ugly displays of intimidation, a majority of St. Paul’s City Council has remained firmly against taking up this issue as a Council.
As St. Paul constituents, we need your voice to thank the St. Paul City Council (besides CM Nelsie Yang) for not giving in to governance by intimidation. Here’s how:
Find your St. Paul City Council Member. Send an email using the advocacy template below. Bcc advocacy@minndakjcrc.org to help us track our outreach. Join this WhatsApp group to stay in touch with fellow St. Paul community members and JCRC on this issue. Share this information to your neighbors in St. Paul.
Thank you for your advocacy!

Dear [your Council Member],
As a concerned constituent in [your Ward], I am writing to thank you for your continued resolve against those attempting to force the St. Paul City Council to govern by intimidation. Such hostility and pressure tactics should not be rewarded.
[Share any personal stories of your experience as a Jew/ally in St. Paul since Oct. 7, or how the activists’ protest tactics impact you as a St. Paulite]
I am certain that we share a deep desire for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and a great sympathy for the suffering of innocent Israelis and Palestinians. As such, it is vital to oppose any resolution or official action related to the Israel-Hamas war, antisemitism, or Jews that JCRC, the consensus public affairs voice of the Jewish community, does not support.
Thank you for focusing on local issues and working to make St. Paul a city we can all be proud to call home.
