St. Paul City Council Advocacy
Dear St. Paul community members,
We are organizing Jews and allies in St. Paul to prevent the division manufactured by the Minneapolis City Council around the Israel-Hamas war from taking root at St. Paul City Hall. Thankfully, St. Paul’s City Council has so far indicated they plan to avoid formally weighing in as a Council.
As St. Paul constituents, we need your voice to ensure that the St. Paul City Council follows through on that indication. Here’s how:
Find your St. Paul City Council Member. Send an email using the advocacy template below. Bcc firstname.lastname@example.org to help us track our outreach. Join this WhatsApp group to stay in touch with fellow St. Paul community members and JCRC on this issue. Share this information to your neighbors in St. Paul.
Thank you for your advocacy!

Subject: Don’t be like Minneapolis on Israel-Hamas war
Remember to bcc email@example.com to help us track our outreach.
Dear [your Council Member],
As a concerned constituent in [your Ward], I am writing to oppose any resolution or official action related to the Israel-Hamas war, antisemitism, or Jews that JCRC, the consensus public affairs voice of the Jewish community, does not support.
I care deeply about seeking a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and I feel great sympathy for the suffering of innocent Palestinians. However, the path pursued by the Minneapolis City Council toward its one-sided “ceasefire” resolution violated the progressive principle of “nothing about us without us.” The consensus perspective of Minneapolis’s Jewish community – even that of its Jewish mayor – was dismissed by the majority of Council Members who decided which histories to include and which to ignore. Please don’t make the same mistakes in St. Paul.
[share any personal stories of your experience as a Jew/ally in St. Paul since Oct. 7]
I stand ready to be a partner for constructive dialogue, honoring all stories with empathy, and making St. Paul a city we can all be proud to call home.
Thank you for your consideration.
