With massive increases in both anti-Israel and anti-Jewish activity worldwide, how do we discern the difference between healthy criticism of Israel and antisemitism?
Jewish tradition cherishes parsing the meaning of words. Together we will explore where the three most recognized – and debated – definitions of antisemitism (IHRA, Nexus, Jerusalem) overlap and diverge regarding rhetoric that is critical of Israel.
Moderated by Ben Sales, JTA News Editor
Panelists:
Addressing the IHRA Definition – Alyza D. Lewin – President, The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law
Addressing the Nexus Definition – Susanah Heschel – Eli M. Black Distinguished Professor of Jewish Studies at Dartmouth College and chair of the Jewish Studies Program
