Workshop open to: University admin, faculty, staffand professionals
In this workshop for allies, participants will leave with analysis, resources, and strategies to address anti-Jewish harm in this moment. The program begins by unpacking Jewish identity, what antisemitism is, and how antisemitism uniquely operates. The program will explore why anti-Jewish ideas are often going unnoticed and how they create harm. Project Shema’s strategy nurtures empathy for all people and creates space for diverse perspectives, nuance, and allyship. Participants will be taken through practical, real-life examples of antisemitism to test their new knowledge, practice identifying and unpacking anti-Jewish harm in the current political climate and Israel & Palestine discourse, and ultimately explore what allyship with the Jewish community looks like right now.
