Welcome news from the Iron Range

The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association pulled its endorsement of Republican House 6B candidate Julie Buria.

In August the JCRC had sharply criticized Ms. Buria for her “reprehensible and historically inaccurate comparisons” between the Holocaust and measures to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

Thank you to the MPPOA, whose board concluded that it “cannot stand behind a candidate who makes anti-Semitic comments of any kind.”

On Wednesday, the JCRC will feature Jerry Burnes, the Mesabi Tribune reporter covering this story in a panel conversation about this election cycle in Minnesota. Click here to register.

As the consensus public affairs voice of the Jewish community, JCRC builds relationships to fight antisemitism and bigotry; educates about Judaism, Israel, antisemitism, and the Holocaust; advocates for Jewish values and priorities; and safeguards our community.
